about me
After graduating college from the University of Colorado at Boulder with a degree in Environment Design, concentrating in Design Studies, and a minor in Technology, Arts, and Media (TAM), I started working at an urban design non-profit, the Better Block Foundation, as an urban planner/project manager. There I worked on projects across the country, from Wisconsin to California, to my own city, Dallas, TX. I coordinated my assigned projects, budgets, volunteers, community groups, and design during my time there.
When Covid-19 hit, and I was unfortunately laid off until I was presented with a new opportunity at HLR, and since then, have worked there for over 5 years as one of their only planners. While working there, I have reported directly to one of the principal architects, gaining valuable knowledge and expertise in urban planning. I coordinate with clients on their density study requests and manage my deadlines and workload to accurately complete the study in a timely manner. I am well versed in reading zoning documents and researching city codes and maps. During my time at HLR, I have given office-wide presentations explaining the importance of density studies and zoning research, as well as conducted small group workshops for employees looking to learn more about urban planning. Additionally, I created base files for the firm for new density studies, and initiated and created guidelines to improve the graphics display of our site plans.
In the Fall of 2024, I began my masters degree in Graphic Information Technology at Arizona State University, while still working at HLR. I finished my masters degree in summer of 2026 and have gained comprehensive knowledge in graphic design, web design, UX/UI design, marketing, and user research. While at ASU, I maintained a 4.0 GPA and built upon my current skills to become a more thoughtful and well rounded designer.
In my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time with my pets, riding horses, and volunteering at the Dallas Animal Shelter by taking shelter dogs out on daycations.
